Krystle Campbell Peace Garden
Shadley Associates and our subconsultant team worked with the City of Medford to create a Peace Garden dedicated to Medford resident Krystle Campbell and all the victims of the events of the 2013 Boston Marathon. The Peace Garden is a public open space created to memorialize the four individuals who lost their lives, to honor those who survived physical, mental or emotional injuries, and to recognize the first responders who risked their own lives to help others during the events that occurred during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013 and the days that followed. The central fountain commemorates the event and the four people who lost their lives; walkways with inspirational words and a pavement route with markers of the Boston Marathon itself are nestled into a contemplative garden with extensive landscaping. The Peace Garden salutes the power of the human spirit.
