Charles River Landing

Shadley Associates worked with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and the Hanover Company on Charles River Landing, a 350-unit luxury apartment complex located next to the Charles River in Needham, MA.  Shadley Associates’ work on the project included extensive public approvals, site design, cost estimating, construction documents and construction administration, as well as the landscape design and construction administration for a local neighborhood park.

SA provided services for overall site landscaping including grading and the installation of retaining walls to protect significant existing forest and specimen trees.  Additional landscape amenities include extensive project screening with landscape and fencing, a formal vehicular entry drop off and new ADA compliant sidewalks throughout the project area.

The project is located adjacent to the Charles River and public park land owned and managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).  Shadley Associates worked with the Client and the DCR on the plan for restoration and improvement of the parking lot adjacent to the new development, which was returned to natural parkland under the same project effort.
